ECOWEEK 2012 kicks off on the opening Saturday with ECOSWAP (Swap Shop – Bring, Take, Swap), and ECOGROW (open allotments and local food) .
In the evening of the first day, enjoy a Slow Food Supper with a special Countryside Question Time - chaired by Peter Kindersley. See ECOQUEST .
On Sunday, why not take an enjoyable cycle ride to East Hanney, where there will be two very special water-powered MILLS open, See ECOMILL and ECOSCREW .
ECOBIZ at FBBC covers issues relevant to your business and ECO-nomy.
ECOTRUST is a very interesting guided tour around the Nationasl Trus HQ in Swindon - with many very impressive eco-credentials.

How does your GREEN BIN get sorted? Find out with ECOTRASH - a half day trip to the BIFFA recycling facilities in North London! There will be a showing of “The Truth about Climate Change” with Sir David Attenborough ( ECOFILM ) , and for the budding beekeepers & ornithologists there’s an introduction to Beekeeping followed by a Bird & Farm Walk at Carswell Farm down by the Thames. The ECOTRAIL gives you permission to be nosey and visit dozens of premises in and around Faringdon that have interesting eco-credentials. For storytelling & hedgerow cooking visit ECOBARD, and if you fancy a glass of beer from a local microbrewery or wine from a local vineyard with oodles of eco-credentials then ECOBEER and ECOVINE is for you.
Under the ECOSCHOOLS banner, the schools will also be taking an active part in the ECOWEEK, as will the Churches. Fancy dancing - come to ECODANCE! Or a horticultural tour with tractor rides? Go to ECOVEG at Coleshill .
And - on the final Saturday of the ECOWEEK – the ECOBIKES & ECOWALK (a peloton of amateur cyclists & walkers – all abilities and ages welcome) will roll & stroll off from the Marketplace and /or Coleshill, possibly visiting some of the ECOFARMS (there are sixteen organic farms within just two miles of Faringdon…) ending up at the cooperatively owned Westmill Wind & now also Solar Farm at Watchfield.
Yes - the ECOFEST (Wind & Solar Farm Open Day at Watchfield) on the 23rd of June will have MANY activities for ALL ages - including ECOFAIR , ECOCHEF (with Masterchef Finalist 2012!) and at 3pm - ECOWORLD (world record attempt at CIRCLING THE SUN) . FREE entry - and parking onsite - although walking & cycling are of course encouraged! Bring your bikes if you want to join in the special CYCLYMPICS!
ECOBURIALS invites you to the Westmill Woodland Burial Ground on the Saturday following ECOFEST.
